3414 international back hoe

Mitchel Simpson Is there anybody who is familer with this tractor? How do I find out anything about it.It's gas 4cylinder engine.I got it running and have the front bucket working, but I can't get the back hoe part all to work. The valve bank on the rt side for the down riggers and the boom swing,I can't get to work. And the boom wont raise from the other valve bank on the left side until I engage any port on the rt side valve bank, then it will raise.Any body who might help me in any way? Thanks
arnold norman your problem is one of 3 things
1 valve at the left of you seat
2 spline wore out in front of the front hyd pump
so the pump dont turn
3 bad front pump

mitchel simpson Thanks for the info.I have replaced the spline coupling on the pump and I am going to bypass the diverson valve next time I get a chance to work on it.I have also found the orfice in the relief valve on the left bank stopped up and the screen cloged up.I havn't got a chance to start it since.Again I thank you very much.

tom Charles,

With no book, I seem to have the same problems with my beloved 3414. Does your steering work? Mine does not at this time. Both symptoms (steering and swing)occurred after the machine sat for all winter. Worked to start with then slowly developed the condition.

It occurred to me that steering/swing pump pressure might be necessary to prevent the hoe from operating while the steering is in use.

Tom

tom Sorry charles, my comments about the 3414 back hoe problems should have been directed to Mitchel.

Thanks,

Tom
