||Can anyone tell me when they stopped using cast iron tractor seats. I bought a antique milk can with a tractor seat mounted on it. The seat is really neat. It has hoosier made or cut into it and it is shaped like a saddle and very thick cast iron. Thanks
||The original Hoosier implement company made seed drills, and was aquired by the Oliver tractor company in 1929, so if your seat is original, it predates 1929, but there are a LOT of reproduction Hoosier seats out there. Most made to honor Indiana's farming heritage. Some tractors came with metal seats until the 1950s.
||Have you ever spent the day on a tractor? Iron seat were replaced with plastic cushioned seats for reasons only a farmer would know!
||what would an original pre 1929 Hoosier seat be worth?
||if someone knows the worth of an original Hoosier tractor seat please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have an original and would like to know what it would be worth
||You see these on Ebay, they're not uncommon at all. Usually $25 - $35.
||About 35 years ago I found an iron tractor seat in a field on Prince Edward Island, CA. The only words on the seat are Ransomes, Ipswich, England. Any idea how old the seat is or it's worth?
