WD 3-point adapter

Jim D I have a 3-point adapter that connects to the snap coupler on an Allis WD. How is the third (top) point connected, and to what?

chris : I have a 3-point adapter that connects to the snap coupler on an Allis WD. How is the third (top) point connected, and to what?

some are made of a U shaped piece of flat steel about 3 inches wide with four holes in it slipped over the liftarm shaft, one hole to connect the top link and the other to retain the bracket with a bolt. the other type is similar except its welded on. sometimes the step on back of tractor has to be cut off a little to clear the top link

Maury Bunn : I have a 3-point adapter that connects to the snap coupler on an Allis WD. How is the third (top) point connected, and to what?

I wrapped strap steel around the rod that connects the two lift arms, bolted it to a piece of pipe, and crimped/drilled a hole in the other end . . . works good.

A muffler clamp of correct size on each size will keep the link point from sliding back and forth.
