Yanmar tractor says Yanmar diesel. No model #
Plate says 2tr17-A.can you tell me what the model number is?
|winston||Thinking it is a 1700B, would be a 1700BD if 4 wheel drive. Does it not have round badges on both sides right around the radiator with a 17 in the middle?
I have only seen photo that seller sent me by phone. I did not see the badge in photo. I am going to look at the tractor later in the week.
What are things I should look for when I drive the tractor?
|winston||It is a 2 cylinder so be prepared for the infamous Yammer hammer sound. Look for excessive blow by out the crankcase vent tube. Should not be any smoke except at cranking and maybe a little at fast acceleration, just not constant. Move in all gears and range speeds listening for unusual sounds. Try pto at all speeds. If 4 wheel drive make sure it operates. Raise the 3 point lift up and down making sure it operates correctly. Check oil and transmission fluid for level and condition. Look for any signs of bad fluid leaks on engine, transmission and 4 wheel drive if there. Check radiator over flow bottle for fluid level and condition. Don't be afraid to ask questions about the history of the tractor, etc. I am sure there are many other things but this is a few. Good luck, hope it works out for you. Let us know your outcome.
|Doug||Thanks for all the information Winston.
