Oliver 2050 Hydralics
|John Canada||I just purchased an Oliver 2050, I have always wanted one of these, I think they are a great looking classic tractor. I have discovered a major problem in that the “lay shaft” which carries the gear to drive the hydraulic pump spun a bearing and damaged the main frame casting by wearing the hole into an oval. This shaft with gear and bearings has been removed along with the hydraulic pump, manifold and all the related drive assembly.
I am not even sure at this time if I can repair the main frame. I can source a new pump although there is a choice of two and I have no idea which one is correct!
Does the 2050 share the same back end main frame casting with any other models? In case I have to purchase a new main frame.
Were all 2050 tractors fitted with 3 pt hitch?
Does the 2050 share the same rear hydraulic top as any other models? As It may be cheaper to find a complete top rather than purchase the missing drive and pump.
Anyone know where I may find a 2050 been broken up for parts?
I would post photos here if I new how!
