Craftsman LT1000 - shifts into gear, but mower doesn't move!!!
I have craftsman mower -917.271662 Question haven't started throwing parts, belts, etc at it yet... Any idea why mower works fine in reverse and fast but, doesn't work at slow speeds? As in shift it past neutral and nothing slow move it up and then will just take off?
1) motion control lever mechanism may be stuffed up with trash or needs lube to operate smoothly - see op manual for details.
2) park brake caliper may be dragging. again see op manual for adjust procedure... and a cuppla shots of rattlecan brake cleaner can also help.
3) while up under there, take time to clean tranny of accumulated clippings/trash, etc - will help.
