|Karen Coleman||I am looking for a Universal 38" drive belt for about a 1995 Statesman riding mower. Can you help?
|joe||So what's the big deal about needing a 38" belt,as rcbe said look over tractor & see if you can find an id tag with mod/sn on same, may be on underside of seat, under seat on fender pan or on frame of tractor, once you find same & get numbers you can google tractor mod# or go directly to mtd website & lookup oem belt pn from parts drawings & order online(tractor was built by mtd).
If you can't find an id tag as long as you know length of belt also measure width of same(3/8",1/2" or 5/8")then get off your butt & grab local yellow pgs and check for a bearing supply dealer, napa auto parts, tractor supply or mtd dealer in your area,at least one of them should be able to sell/order belt for you,in any event with the exception of an oem mtd belt get a KEVLAR belt as a replacement,if you buy local if possible take old belt with you so they can measure so you can get correct size belt.
