L175 rear axle seal replacement
|Steven||Does anyone here know if there is a snap ring that has to be removed in order to pull the rear axle on an L175?
|jm.||Steve Not a snap ring but what KUBOTA calls a collar behind the bull gear. Go to KUBOTA dot com select illustrated parts , then sign the agreement, then type in L 175 , look at axel shaft. You will see you have to pull the final drive cover off and remove the collar then pull the axel out to replace the seal.
|Steven||Thanks for the post. I looked up a diagram at kubota and it's somewhat blurry. Is the final drive assembly the large housing that connects to the side of the transmission housing?
|jm.||Yes remove that cover and the axel housing will come with it.
|Steven||Thanks for the help. I'm working on it. Does the brake hub have to come off? It's somewhat in the way of one bolt.
|jm.||Steven just been about 25 years since I did one but yes think the hub comes off
