4610 lift problem

Terence Hi can anyone help I have a 4610 and the lifts won't work as they should when I move the leaver nothing happens until the top position and the lifts raise fully move the leave down half an inch and they drop fully any ideas
BigT Hello Terence, welcome to the SSB tractor forum.

My position control lever (the outer lever) is getting to be like yours. It only works in the upper hslf of the stroke.

I think that your cam follower pin is worn out. You will have to pull the lift cover to repair. Replace the pin, and all O-rings in the lift system. Put new seals on the lift piston, and service the unloader valve. Re-calibrate the lift control when you are done.

You will need a shop/service manual for guidance on this job. SSB has manuals for your tractor, as well as many other internet sites. Ebay usually has good deals on manuals. If you are mechanically inclined, an I&T shop manual will usually suffice.

Terence Friel Cheers big t any links to find the correct settings
Terence Friel Hi big t got sorted out all adjusted and working spot on
After removing the cover refit the quadrant
Flip the cover upside down place the lift arms
In the fully down position place both levers in the down position
Check the yoke for free play adjust to remove it by turning one way or another not too far as you will introduce free play the other way
Now place the draft leaver to about 3.5 on the scale
Marked on the quadrant
Remove the back valve cover three studs
Measure from the face of the block to the valve
6 mm is what you want to see
If not loosen the 9/16 nut on the draft adjuster
And adjust to you get 6 mm at the face of the valve and put it back on and that should be that

BigT Excellent report Terence! Was the cam follower pin badly worn?
Terence No it was fine source of the problem was turning the yoke while glass blasting and repainting as far as I can tell
