can not start backhoe

Bud okeeffe I have a 207 yr 580M ser.2 E-hoe It was running but the forward & reverse stopped. I stopped the engine and now it will not start. The 2 battery's are new when the key is turned on the red light with arrows on both sides of a red ball stays on along with the battery light I do not have a manual to tell me what the light mean or how to correct the problem can someone help./ Thanks Bud
AJ That sounds like the forward/reverse switch has got an issue, the F/R switch controls the neutral start and back-up beeper,is the beeper working, those switches can wear out but before you replace it make sure that all the fuses are good, that the multi plug going into the switch is ok,unplug it and reconnect it,the clutch cut out buttons on the levers are not sticking, they can cause no F or R but do not effect the starting,I have removed and repaired some of the F/R switches but it was only a temporarily fix, there is other reasons why you have no drive such as the shift time delay of a broken snap rind in the modulation valve but either of them would not effect the starting.
