In Reply to: Dealer left air cleaner off on new MF - used for one year - how much engine damage??? posted by Rex from MI on Tuesday, September 25, 2007:
Rex...Jason is correct. I worked as an MF service engineer for more years than I want to remember and the inlet manifold/air filter hose should have been checked at the pre delivery inspection and also at the following services(providing you have had the tractor serviced)..If your dealer has to go to Agco with an engine problem they will tell him the same! Untold damage can almost certainly result in the engine drawing in dirty/contaminated air.....Go back to your dealer and create merry hell with him and if necessary refer the matter back to Agco....I would!..hope you succeed in getting satisfaction....Best regards....Geoff
