I had the generator replaced with on alternator. I am burning up points. I put a ceramic thing (can't remember the name) in line to reduce voltage.Where exactly should this be placed between, is it necessary and is there another solution? Also, tractor runs good until it starts to get hot, then it shuts off. If it cools for about an hour , will start and run. Could this be a bad voltage regulator? Engine was rebuilt, starts great, just can't keep it running for more than an hour. Thanks.
