I have not seen a MF 35 deluxe diesel that did not have the 2stage clutch (thats not to say there are none). For starters your SER# prefix should tell you, if it says SNM it is dual clutch. If so it is either way out of adjustment, like 2 or 3 inches of free play or is stuck or has other problems.
