Hello Jim,
I have two MF40's, one newly acquired with instant reverse. It seems that you can install a pto shaft as you have done. I have my sights on a MF 203 which is partially down, with complete instant reverse and pto originally in place. Want to try to purchase it and add the pto parts to my 40 if it is compatible.
Dealers have had incorrect information for me on several occasions too. Lets keep in touch.
