sir the top plate gasket will leak and the gasket can be replaced by any diesel experienced mechanic . it will not mess up the pump timing and can be repaired without removing the pump from the tractor . remember to pay attention to what , how ,different items come loose from the plate . all the cntrols are contained in the plate .
