Your tiller was and still is an excellent quality machine, however since MTD bought Troy-Bilt a few years ago, they have slapped the Troy-Bilt name on some really inferior machines. Sorry you got burned on your tractor, and I hope you do get your money back. MTD has purchased the right to use other great names from the past as well, such as Bolens, White, and others. Even the Cub Cadet line is owned by MTD, but the Cubs from the 2000 series up are still built in the original Cub factory to a better quality standard than most of the other MTDs. Be aware that several formerly independant brands have been swallowed up by parent companies that hope to cash in on the reputations of the names.
