I purchased a 2186 2 years ago. the 48" mower deck had high lift blades. There are two types of blads available for this deck. If a dealer says there is not, (he is wrong). my tractor is a great tractor, but since MTD took over cub cadet I have heard complaint after complaint about the larger mower decks. Mowing 3 acres in western Dakota, I invested in an engine hoist as to raise the tractor to clean the deck each time. I will never purchase another cub, because the factory had no fix for this dirty deck. If you notice old craftsman or white mowrs, look at the depth of the deck. A thinner deck stays cleaner.
