As for wether these tractors are worthy, Sonny, it depends. I don't know what Your plans are. Are You only going to mow? Do You have designs on snowblowing, rototilling? How much are You mowing? Half an acre or 5 acres? There are so many variables that I could go on about differing scenarios for pages.
I can only tell You My preferences.
I'd look for a clean used 318, and I'd drive off into the sunset with My power steering and my full hydraulics. I'd have $2,500-$3,500 bucks in a tractor that would cost over ten thousand to replace new . There's no way I'd pay $2,000+ for a Craftsmen or JD that was built by AYP. Either of wich will lose half it's value as soon as You get it home.
