I bought this mower new a few years ago. I love the build of the chassis and the B&S twin is strong as an ox...however, I am desperately in need on opinions/help on the following:
1. This thing came with a fully vented, "domed" 46" deck, hieght adjustable by the "EZ3" system. I HATE THIS DECK!!! All it wants to do is get clogged up with grass, which is chewed to a fine paste and winds up clogging the whole thing. I have removed all muching parts and replaced the blades with "straight" ones , to now avail. Is there any other deck (hopefully the old conventional "flat" style) that will mount on this thing?
2. The hydro drive has decided it's tired of working properly. Up hills in forward, it just runs out of steam (the transaxle does....the engine never even bogs). Forget reverse....very weak unless you're on flat ground. I know the manual says the unit is sealed, but can I do anything to it to help it out? Is it low on fluid or something? Adjusting the shifter per the manual didn't help.
Thanks in advance! I'd really like to keep this mower, but only if I can make it so I can actually use it.
