I am interested in buying a Craftsman GT 5000 Automatic. My current mower is a, 1993-Craftsman LT 18hp, 5-speed, 42". It still runs okay but I have 1.5 acres to mow. I'm disabled because of Chronic Back Pain and my wife has to help about 45% of the time. She doesn't appreciate any mechanical problems. Before if I pay that kind of money I would like to test drive it. My closest SEARS doesn't test drive anything and I don't know of anyone around that has one so that I might try. Can anyone relate? I did notice that this new mower has a more durable deck. By the way does the hydrostat require purging before using by the consumer?
