carolyn, is this a brand new mower from Sears ?.
If so, she should complain about it to them. In fact if it is new, and not very old, its my understanding that Sears has a no fault money back guarantee for so long if not completley satisfied.

Sorry to hear about the problems, don't blame her for being upset, I would too.
