I mow about 5 acres in the country. I used to do this with a john deere 111. Loved it but it burned up when my barn burned down. I had about $1440 from an insurance settlement and used it to order a Craftsman LT1000 20Hp automatic on sale. I haven't taken posession of the tractor yet, it won't come into sears for 2 weeks. It doesn't have a cast iron front axle. Most of my yard is smooth but there are some steep ditches and rough areas where the john deere just scalped the high points and threw the dirt out which was fine with me as these areas are in the "outback" of our place. It's also a bit rough there. Will the craftsman do it or will its none cast iron axle give up the ghost hitting the bumps. Should I order a different model with a cast iron axle? Help
