see www.gemplers.com for a product called "Ultra-Seal". The "off-road" version will prevent/repair a leak from a .50 caliber weapon. It's used on all military Hummers. The on-road version, which is in every tire I own, does the same with .25 caliber holes. It's saved me several times and worth 10 times what they charge for it. The tire does not have to be demounted to use it, you just remove the valve, pump it in, screw the valve back in, fill the tire with air and you're done.
