Advice on buying a lawn tractor

I live in rural Ontario, Canada. My husband & I have been shopping around for a 17.5 - 20 HP lawn tractor. We have 1.5 acres of lawn. Right now we are considering a Poulan Pro 18.5 hp B&S V-Twin OHV Automatic Hydro, cast iron front axle. I would love some advice & opinions before we make this kind of major purchase. We are hoping to spend $3000.00 or less Canadian.
