: I have just aquired a 1981 Bolens 16hp tractor.
: It has B & S 2cyl petrol engine (model 402437)
: It will only run with almost full choke.
: The carb has separate choke and throttle butterfly valves and 2 'mixture' screws!
: Can anyone tell me how to set up this type of carb?

on the bottom of the float bowl there is a screw that appears to go through a nut. run the screw all the way in, not tight at all. turn it out 2 and one half turns to get it started. once running adjust it to the pooint it start's to run erratic then back off just a hair. the other screw is for the idle smoothing. adjust it the same as the high speed adjuster on the bottom.
