sounds like there is a safety switch that is bad. the way it is set up if a switch is not functioning properly it atoumatically grounds the armeture, causing it not to spark. you'll have to take a test light and test each switch to locate the bad one. just take a 9 volt battery and hook to one side of the each switch then connect a light to the other side and activate the switch. whatever one does not light up is bad.
