KC,
I took the tractor out Friday night and cut the lawn Saturday. If you've got the money, go for an LT3000. I thought the engine would be obnoxiously loud... it wasn't. The torque plus the 3-blade deck made cutting a breeze. It was the first cut of the the year and the grass was high but the mower never bogged down when I plowed through the high grass with a mound of clippings on top.
Only time will tell how dependable the Kohler will be but I was impressed. Sears is trying to compete with the high end tractors with this series and I think they'll do well.
