I have a MTD self propelled that I bought less than two years ago ($300 at Sams Club). I used it about three or four times and the engine raced and it wouldn't run. I left it at a repair shop for about 5 months (all summer last year) and they confessed that they couldn't fix it for a long time and finally after talking to Tecumseh several times they "fixed" it (about $100). I used it once more (end of last summer) but it would die when the self propelled aspect was activated - but at least its engine didn't race uncontrollably though it was still not right. I am now trying to start it and it won't start. It seems like it's not getting a spark, like there is an ignition that is off. I'm not going to try to have it repaired at a shop again (can we say junk?) but if there were something to do to try to start it, I would do that while I look for a new mower.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
