I have a 23 hp Craftsman GT model 917.275041, hydrostatic transaxle. This tractor was running fine, then suddenly just died. My son thought he ran out of gas. Gassed it up, turned the key and absolutely nothing.
Clutch switch was off. depressed brake/clutch, seat depressed, nothing.
one thing I noticed was that the transaxle would not disengage when the lever in the rear was pulled out.
I'm wondering if there is a common transaxle failure here?
