I have an older (1990?) John Deere STX-38 mower (yellow deck) that has performed admirably for the four years I've owned it, but the old Kohler 12.5 (I think it's a CV12.5S) is about to give out. I've heard that this chassis can accept a 14, 15 or even 16HP Kohler model. Does anyone out there have any suggestions or experience in performing an engine swap on a similar mower? Does anyone know any good sources for information re JD engine swaps? Thanks in advance to all. TJJ
