If tractor a wards(wards & sears had an elite series)if you find an id tag, wards tractors were built by mtd in which case mod# will begin with TMO or if built by gilson mod# will begin with GIL,in either case eng will have a briggs id tag on eng or mod, type & sn usually stamped in flywheel cover, sears used their own mod# on an id tag on eng starting with three numbers a dot & more numbers after that,IF you have this style tag on eng, write down complete number & take to local mower shop, they will probably have cross ref craftsman/briggs.
