Check all the things Joe said,after that do a pressure test on radiator/cooling system,you may have a head gasket that's leaking or a crack in head or block allowing exhaust gas to get into cooling system,also check your driven loads(trans/mower deck)you may have a mech problem overloading eng & causeing same to run hot/overheat.
