From what you discribe spring is probably return/tension spring for clutch idler arm/idler pulley assembly,look at id tag on tractor,if mod# is tmo-33920A,copy mod/sn off tag,if it is a tmo# tractor was made by mtd,do a goggle search for mtd manuals,click on link to pfd manual web archive,enter mod/sn,operators manual/parts list probably avail as a free download,if so download/print manual,spring you're looking for is probably shown somewhere on pg 25,problem being springs not shown by color,same listed by pn & od x length,you'll have to measure spring & look at parts list to determine key# in drawing,then look at parts drawing to get an idea of where/how spring is connected.
