In Reply to: How does JD justify their cost? posted by Scott on Sunday, October 21, 2001:
: I'm shopping around and found that both JD and Sears run the same engines, however, when comparing prices w/roughly the same bells and whistles, The JD is about a grand more expensive. Is this extra cost due to heavier duty build or is JD just capitalizing on their name? A Troybilt with roughly the same setup comes in about half the price of the JD. What gives?
I have an orange unit from Home Depot. A Scotts and it is made by JD but costs a whole lot less. Check it out.
