If x300 1 yr/less old check your owner's manual/jd dealer,repair my be covered by deere or eng mfg warranty,if you start fooling with same it may void any warranty,for 318 if only flywheel bad goto ebay & type onan flywheel in search,you can probably get a good used one for $30-$50 dollars,also try typing john deere 318 in search,go thru listings to see if any complete tractors listed as a possible guide to worth of same.
