I seem to have a similar problem. Did you have any success? I haven't looked at it closely yet. Still steers, but excessive play and seems to jump when turned hard and tractor not moving. Thanks.
: when i turn the steering, the shaft assembly slips on the gear sector. it appears to not be seating all the way into the support. i havent taken it apart yet. will i need any parts, or will i be able to reseat it on the workbench?
