Starting at shift handle & working towards transmission,check that all linkages are tight & not sloppy due to wear or binding at pivot points due to wear or lack of lube,after that goto www.partstree.com,click on mtd logo,enter mod# 135m670g088 in left col,look at transaxle drawing from list,internal parts that could cause problem are worn/bent shift fork rod,bent/worn shift fork(48)worn clutch(17)worn gears(11,15,16)worn bearings(52)due to fact tractor 15 yrs old & you lost rev at some point in time you may have ext linkage problems & internal transaxle problem due to wear.
