: anyone have any tips on rebuilding a kawasaki engine on a john deere lawn tractor?
: )
: It's a 17 hp, air cooled single that the dealer said would be very difficult to intall a new piston and rings!

: I think he was just trying to sell me an incredibly expensive short block!

: If anyone has any suggestions, please contact me
: thanks
: Bernie

Bernie - The first thing I would recommend is to call Deere Service Publications at 1-800-522-7448, and order the Component Technical Manual for your engine. You may also want to consider the parts manual for the tractor, which would include identificaiton for the engine parts. - Dave
