I have a ~94' Craftsman 917.256610 "Lawn Tractor", with a Hydro Gear Transaxle # 310-0650. I have found that after about 20-minutes of mowing up and down a 5% grade, that the transmission starts to slip, and eventually stops moving. It seems to be a non-serviceable unit.
Does anyone have ideas on how to "rebuild" at home, or know where to pick up a rebuilt/new unit?

Maybe this 15.5HP 46" Mower is not the right one for me? FYI, poor cutting, poor grass exhaust?

any help or comments are welcome and appreciated.
