First, remove spark plug (tie back well away from head). Crank engine to see if it turns. Also watch spark plug hole for liquid being spewed out during 1t revolution.
If starter does not turn engine, remove new battery and have it LOAD tested by a competent shop. If batt bad, replace and have newest one also load tested.
Before installing good new battery, disassemble all starter circuit connections one at a time - cleaning to bare bright metal with sandpaper and then re-assembling. Include chassis grounds, igntion switch connections, starter solenoid, starter.
Connect new good battery after cleaning both post connections.
if starter will still not turn engine over, try using jumper cables in order to isolate problem cause. Post back results.
