that means the solenoid is working. the solenoid is called an anti backfire valve. when you shut off them big bore engines, the extra fuel that goes into the hot cylinder while engine is winding down to a stop ignites causing a loud backfire and possible muffler baffle damage. the needle on the soleniod pops up and blocks off main jet hole during shutoff to prevent fuel from entering the hot engine during shutdown.
