Kenn, The H-70 is a horizontal shaft motor, and can't be used to replace your verticle shaft block. Is the VH-70 re-buildable? If this is for a JD 70, I had a similar problem, and found that sadly, the cast iron verticle block is NLA. You might be able to find on NOS, it'll take some searching.
