They originally came from the factory with type "F" car automatic transmission fluid (red in color) and now Deere recommends their own LoVis Hygard fluid (clearish amber in color). Level is checked in the sight tube at the rear of the tractor frame located in a vertical slot on the left side. Should be in the middle of the slot when the tractor is parked on flat ground. Do not mix the 2 different kinds of fluids, if adding add the same as what's in there, if changing then drain the system and replace the filter also. Should take around 6 quarts +/-.
