most likely will take some serious shadetree mechanicing to repair that prob. Get the full model number off the tractor's I.D. Plate - go to the Sears parts website and look at the transaxle parts detail.
You then should be able to make a decision about how/who will repair what. Those axles are usually held in with a snap ring or such - often hafta disasemble the axle housing to re-install...
