Sounds like the float is sticking open. You could, if you have the know how go to your local kohler dealer and get a rebuil kit for the carb and the manual. Or just get a new carb for it. You could also install a fuel shut off valve in the fuel line and shut the fuel off every time you park it. If you whole grage smells like gas because of the tractor I suggest that you park it outside untill repaired because of the fire hazard.
