I have a fairly new JD LA-175 that has greasable deck spindles (grease zerks). I was happy to see this when I bought it because the spindle bearings really take a beating and seem to be the first things to wear out. Since I am somewhat obsessive-compulsive, I try to keep all of my equipment in new working order, so I usually perform maintenance on a tighter schedule than what the manuals recommend. As such, I was wondering if it is possible to "overgrease" the deck spindles, and if so, how would I know and could this cause damage? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
