If you mean you jumped starter sol & starter engaged/cranked eng,you could have 1 or more possible problems,coil or contacts bad in starter sol,loose safety sw(s),contacts bad in safety sw(s)loose/dirty connectors on safety sw's,or ign sw,bad ign sw,also check that battery cables clean/tight at battery,starter sol & where neg cable bolts to chassis/eng block,also check cable between sol & starter,that's its clean/tight at both ends.
