The PTO is the "power take off". It's the clutch that uses power from the motor to drive attachments like the mower deck, snowblower, etc. Yours is a mechanical PTO since it has a lever that engages the clutch. I don't have access to my service manual for the 200 series today, but I know it can be adjusted for better engagement. Been too long since I've done one to trust my memory.
