Your best bet is to get yourself a briggs interactive cd service manual, either from local dealer, briggs website or ebay, briggs used 3 different charging systems & 2 different ign systems, you need manual to id charging & ign systems, colors varied on alt depending on type of system,1 system charge only, other 2 either dual or tri alt, depending on type of system from colors you you gave, could go either way(dual/tri),1 system use's a patch cord between eng wiring & tractor harness, with diodes in same for lights & battery, other only has 1 diode(dc),don't know if your talking about wire colors in eng harness or patch cord, ign kill lead may/may not be included in same connector for eng wiring, both systems had an ext terminal on eng for kill lead to connect to tractor wiring harness.
