no special dedicated fuse for the wire - like I said in first reply, you've got a short someplace either inside the coil itself or close by - running that separate wire and having it get hot proves that much.
If you don't know how to troubleshoot elect circuits, get pro help. will cost $, but prolly cheaper than what you will end up burning out if not real careful. Just MHO...
